Fluid Nature will make its last and final stop at the Crowsnest Pass Public Art Gallery this November. If you haven't seen the exhibit, then save the date! The show runs from November 12 to December 11, 2016 and I will be there for the Artist Reception on November 13 from 1pm-3pm. The exhibit explores the idea or hypothesis of Rheological Abstraction: "Rheological Abstraction is a form of art which takes into careful consideration the rheological properties of the materials being used. Narrative becomes secondary or incidental to the fluid signature of the materials on the substrate. The relationship between author and artwork develops simultaneously through the process of creation rather than through the execution of an perceived iconographic idea". - Mali Vargas Crowsnest Pass Public Art Gallery 14737 20th Ave (Highway 3), Frank, AB CrowsnestPassPublicArtGallery.com

I am very pleased to announce I have been successfully juried into the Society of Canadian Artists as an Elected Member. I am honored to be in the company of great Canadian Artists and I am grateful to be recognized as a peer.
I was once again invited to take part in the Calyx Distinctive Arts sale that will take place this Saturday, November 5th in Edmonton's Pleasantview Community Hall. If you are visiting Edmonton for the weekend or if you live there, please come by and say hello! There will be artwork ranging from paperworks to wearable art, metalworks to textiles, and paintings ranging from representational to abstract. I always look forward to this event!
The opening night for Chromatone went without a hitch and I couldn't be happier. Before I had arrived there were already visitors at the gallery. The mood was fantastic and the presence of other artists was greatly appreciated. Among the crowd were Mindy Andrews, Luba Todorovic, Simon Wroot, Susan Kristofferson, Bob & Connie Pike, and others whose name escapes me at the moment (please forgive me!).
I was greeted with flowers and many wonderful comments as well as inquiries regarding the color, depth, and textures of the work. In fact, many commented on how beautiful the pieces are in person and the photographs do them no justice....perhaps it's my cue for bettering my photography skills...hehehe Another wonderful surprise was to see a photograph of Chromatone 2222 in the current issue of Routes Magazine. The painting was used as a background for a fashion shoot and the photos are tres chic! I would like to thank Routes for giving the proper credit to my work...THANK YOU! And, in a very a propos fashion, the magazine came out on the same day as my opening...can a girl complain?? No way! The evening carried on without a single dull moment and sooner rather than later red dots began to appear on the tags...all in all four pieces found a new home on opening night and there are still three weeks for others to enjoy the show and acquire an emotively colorful painting. So, if you didn't get a chance to attend the opening don't miss the opportunity to experience these works.
